Becoming Sporadic
Dear friends,
I knew at some point in the fall the school year would catch up with me. That time has come. I have no scheduled posts for the rest of the month. On the upside, I’ve subsequently paused billing for December at my Patreon site to give you access to my longer posts. You’ll need to sign up as a Patron to get that access.
This also gives me an opportunity to reflect on the last several months. I set up the webpage and Patreon account to have an audience to be accountable to in some psychological sense. In a lot of ways, that was successful. I’ve had 14 weekly posts in a row. However, I don’t think it’s sustainable. I want to post scenes or short stories that are reasonably complete even if they are early drafts. During the summer, I was able to focus on my fiction writing and schedule posts ahead of time. Once the school year started, I had less time to devote to writing. Trying to keep the same schedule became a chore rather than a joy. So, I’m going to be more sporadic in my posts for the foreseeable future.
