What’s been going on? (December 2022 – January 2023)
I just wanted to update you on what I’ve been up to since my last post in November. I’ve been concentrating on Ory’s story: outlining, writing scene summaries, and going back to the outline. I’m at a stage where I have scene summaries for about the length of a novella. That’s about 24 scenes and 2,400 words in the scene summaries. I’m still smoothing over the scene summaries. There are some things I’m bringing up toward the end of the story that I need to introduce earlier. Figuring out where and how to introduce those things will take a bit of time. After that, I’m working with another writer to “pressure-test” the outline. But then, it’s back to drafting whole scenes!
My previous posting schedule burned through my material faster than I could write it. So, I’m setting myself new goals for posting each month. You can expect a summary post like this one toward the end of the month. When I have a draft scene to share, I’ll post the beginning of it here. Patrons will have full access on my Patreon site.
Thank you as always for supporting my writing. Remember to tell your friends about me. They can read all of my earlier posts at Patreon.com/chrisgetchell.
